how to enlarge a hole in a timber?
I have a guitar that I built, which has a cavity which corresponds to a cylinder Metal / button that slides back and forth (on a plate on top, a lock tremolo). there is not enough room for the button to move fully position, because the cavity in the timber is not big enough. it takes about 3mm/1/8 "more and the cavity is circular at the end of a oblong, about 1 cm in diameter. it needs to be quite contrary excact cavity extend beyond the plate on top. wood is black limba, or its alternatives .- Black Korina name similar to the property in the alder, and ends with Danish oil. what is the best way make the whole greater. i dont have drill presses, vices anytihng like that. DIY tools right at home. would be a big file of the correct size is ok? I'm looking more sometihng excact well, maybe a wicking particualr? I mean a form like this: a rectangle with a circular end. specify I want to do more if the button can drag other
Use painters tape to mark on the surface, with a black ink pen, the center point 3 mm from the existing hole. is the farthest point of the opening. Both sides tapered to zero on the sides of the circle 1 / 2. If you a model to design the new half circle, use that to draw the sides. Carefully remove the material inside the line, including traces of the line on the strip with a rounded file, or a Dremel-type tool. Remove painters tape protection and mounted. Good luck.
